Supporting St Peter’s

The most important way you can support the life of St Peter’s is through joining us for services, and joining in with our events and church activities.

However, we are a charity and rely on the generosity of regular and occasional givers, and fundraising efforts, to cover our costs. Churches receive no government funding.

Our main cost each year is our contribution to the mission and ministry of the Diocese of Newcastle through the parish share system. This year we have pledged to pay £64800. That includes things like clergy pay, housing, training, pension contributions, and various diocesan costs. Our other main costs as a parish are our energy bills, insurance, and the maintenance and upkeep of the church and hall.

You can give online here, or if you wish to set up a standing order direct to the church’s bank account, the details are as follows:

St Peters Monkseaton PCC

08-92-99

a/c 67473557

and ‘Your Surname’ as the reference

Any regular gift, no matter how small, is very welcome and helpful for us in planning and budgeting.

Legacy giving

Several of the recent projects we have completed to improve the church building, including the upgrade to the sound system, and the development of the south porch, have only been made possible through legacy giving, or gifts in memory of a loved one. If you would like to consider remembering St Peter’s in your will, or would like to give to the church in someone’s memory, please do be in touch with us for a conversation.
